My way is a secular driven ego driven inversion of the doxology’s posture of surrender.
Positives about each position:
- there is pyschological relief in not having to carry the weight of being the sole author of your fate
- there is something important in taking responsibility for your choices rather than diffusing them outwards
- it is a claim against self pity and excuse making
11 months of prayer
if God exists beyond the dimensions of space and time, why is 11 months of mourning required if soul returns to a place beyond the concept of time.
- the mourning is for the mourner not the soul, and mourning does take place in time
- our durational world is the medium through which something timeless is engaged
